Michelle is a Chicago native and entrepreneur. Michelle’s interest in the law began as a little girl, but she did not personally know any lawyers or even any college graduates. In fact, Michelle experienced numerous traumas and challenges growing up on the south side of Chicago. However, she was determined to pursue higher education, and eventually, despite the financial challenges, became a first generation college graduate. During her last year of college, she decided she would attend law school only to get notice that she was pregnant on the same day that she received her first law school acceptance letter. With her family’s support, Michelle obtained two law degrees as a single mother. Michelle has always had a desire to interact with different cultures even through she grew up in a predominately black neighborhood. In fulfillment of her life long desire, Michelle has studied and spoken about legal issues around the world including China, South Africa, Singapore and Dubai.

 

Michelle began her career at the Cook County State’s Attorney office. After a short period working in the public sector of law, Michelle shifted her career to the corporate world. After 12 year as in-house counsel at a large Chicago corporation, Michelle J. Miller established The M.J. MILLER Law Firm. Michelle's extensive experience serving as lead counsel for business offices and regulatory issues in over 25 states in the USA, including Puerto Rico, Guam, U. S. Virgin Islands and the America Samoa as well as lead counsel for the company's worldwide operations, coupled with her years of experience handling a multitude of business, compliance and regulatory issues prepared her to launch this stellar legal practice. Michelle has extensive experience handling local, national and international business issues. Michelle realized her dreams by launching her own practice with a mission to help creative geniuses, entrepreneurs, entertainers, small business owners and ministries that may not otherwise have the ability to work with an attorney of her caliber.

Known as "The Trademark Queen", Michelle is the go-to attorney for intellectual property issues (with the exception of patents). Michelle is the legal counsel and trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, business owners, celebrities, entertainers, influencers, coaches, creatives and ministry leaders.

 

Outside of the legal profession, Michelle loves engaging in ministry endeavors, mentoring people, empowering women, traveling, trying new experiences and spending time with her family.
